EARLSWOOD Town remain four points adrift at the bottom of Midland League Division Two following a 2-1 defeat to Hampton at the The Pavilions on Saturday.

It was a closely contested game and on their second-half performance Earls were probably worth a point.

The visitors started the brighter of the two teams and led 2-0 at the break with thanks to a brace from Jordan McKenzie.

Earlswood reduced the arears in the 59th minute when a Mikey Corrigan shot was parried by the Hampton goalkeeper and Lewis James was on hand to hit the rebound home.

Earls could not find an equaliser and Hampton held on to claim all three points.

The wet weather saw the majority of games in Midland League Division Three called off, including the derby between Shipston Excelsior and FC Stratford.

Alcester Town's trip to Burntwood and Badsey Rangers' clash at Northfield also fell victim to the weather

Division one games involving Southam United, Racing Club Warwick, Studley and Littleton were also postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
