CAMPAIGNERS battling to keep vital services at The Horton General Hospital are celebrating today’s decision by a judge in London that the no final outcome over the hospital’s future can be made until a full hearing takes place at the High Court sometime before the end of the year.

At a verbal pre-hearing held at The Royal Court of Justice, today, Tuesday, a judge ruled that Representatives of Keep the Horton General (KTHG) were right to challenge the way a consultation conducted by the Oxford Clinical Commissioning Group was “carried out.”

KTHG chair Keith Strangwood said: “This is fantastic news, some good news at last. It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.”

The campaign to save services at the hospital has brought together Stratford District Council, Banbury Town Council, KTHG and Cherwell District Council in an unprecedented show of unity in their opposition to the proposed health care changes at the hospital.
