General election polls for Stratford swing between Lib Dems and Tories for the win - with Reform third

CARE to hazard a guess who is going to win the Stratford-on-Avon seat?

The experts and the algorithms have been doing this since the general election was declared in the downpour just a few weeks ago.

The predictions have mainly swung between the Conservatives retaining the seat to the Liberal Democrats making history by winning a formerly safe Tory seat. And there are some predictions that put Labour in charge, using the momentum the party is seeing elsewhere in the country.

Ballot box.
Ballot box.

The latest YouGov conclusion, according to its forecasting, is that it’s a bit of a toss-up. However, it puts the Lib Dems ahead on 36 per cent of the vote with the Conservatives in second on 32.9 per cent. Reform UK (15.5 per cent) would finish above Labour (10.8 per cent).

Head over to the Financial Times and its prediction software has the Conservatives taking a bit of a hammering in the constituency but still clinging onto the seat. It predicts 32.6 per cent of the vote will be blue, but that will be enough to see off the Lib Dems (29.9 per cent). Once again, Reform (17.4 per cent) are predicted a third-place finish with Labour fourth (13.8 per cent).

The Economist is more generous in its prediction for a Conservative win (37 per cent) and has Labour in second (21 per cent) and the Lib Dems third (20 per cent).

Confused? We are. Just expect a closer race than usual.
