In this week's Herald. . .

IN this week's Herald the proposals to combine four schools into a multi-academy trust have been heavily criticised.

Local voices – including those of parents – have talked about their concerns for the future of Stratford High, Bishopton, Bridgetown and Thomas Jolyffe Schools following the launch of the consultation.

In another consultation, the campaign opposing the controversial South Western Relief Road has won the backing of local Conservative councillor Molly Giles. Hear her emphatic arguments against the plans.

The row over affordable homes continues to rumble on as CALA Homes refuse to give any assurances over the Long Marston Airfield. There have also been assurances over the future of Stratford's police station and, in a Letters Special, we revisit the KES plans to sell land to fund a new sports pitch at the Manor Road site. Our postbag was full of objections to the scheme this week.

In other news, we exclusively reveal the recipient of the 2018 Pragnell Prize winner, why Ragley hall is closing its gates to visitors outside of planned events and, on the next of our fortnightly Business pages, we visit the best bed and breakfast in Europe - right on our doorstep in Little Compton.

In the Arts scene, we find out all about two new shows coming to Stratford's Bear Pit, The Bald Prima Donna and Flo Smith. Plus, we preview two folk festivals in the district and we look ahead to Nazanin's Story, telling the real-life struggle of British Iranian woman Nazanin Zagari-Ratcliffe who was imprisoned in Iran whilst visiting her family. Find out where you can catch this political drama later this month.

Our man on the touchline brings all the latest results, fixtures and news from the local sporting scene - including the latest interview with Stratford Town manager Carl Adams following the team's latest defeat.

PLUS: In our competition this week you can win a Sunday lunch for four people and champagne at The Millstone Hare pub at Dallas Burston Polo Club in Southam.

And there is so much more besides. . . all for just 75p!
