Megan Giglia wins Paralympic gold

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON'S Megan Giglia has won Team GB's first gold medal of the 2016 Paralympic Games.
She beat American Jamie Whitmore this evening, Thursday, in the C1-3 3,000m.
The 31-year-old broke her own world record in her semi-final earlier in the day.
Giglia had a brain haemorrhage and stroke at the age of 27.
This year has seen her win two world titles.
Rower James Roe won gold at the London 2012 Paralympics and has two gold post boxes in his honour in Bridge Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.
