New time and place for popular Thai Festival

The hugely popular Thai Festival in Warwick is moving to a new venue and will have an entry fee.

It will take place at Warwick Racecourse on Sunday, 31st July.

Last year it was in Market Place in the town centre, with 5,000 people turning out despite heavy rain at times. But organisers say it is no longer big enough and an entry fee was needed to cover costs.

The focus of the festival will be on food, with over 40 stalls selling food that would not be out of place in Bangkok.

Other stalls will be selling Thai crafts and aspects of eastern culture.

Buddhist Monks will set up a temple and start the festival off, while on stage throughout the day will be a top class presentation of Thai culture, with dancing, music, kick boxing and cookery demonstrations.
