Police seek witnesses following robbery on A46, Alcester
WARWICKSHIRE Police is investigating a robbery that took place along the A46 in Alcester.
They are appealing for information from the public about the incident which happened around 7pm on Friday, 1st September in the Bridleway area.
The victim, a man in his late 20s had been walking along the bridleway and it is reported that he was approached from behind by an unknown man.
The victim has been struck to the back of the head causing him to fall to the floor where he has been struck again causing him to lose consciousness.
It has also been reported that when he regained consciousness, a number of personal items had been taken from his possession, which included an iphone 4 mobile phone, iphone charger, a rucksack, car key for a Audi A3 and a brown wallet with green stripes.
He did not require any treatment for his injuries.
There is no description of the offender.
Detective Constable Tom Quinlan of Warwickshire Police CID, said: "We are urging anyone who may have been in the area around the time and seen anything suspicious to contact police as soon as possible.
"It is believed that there may have been a dog walker and others present at the time of the incident.
"Fortunately he was not seriously injured but was understandably shaken by the ordeal.
"Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101."
Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity within the area or has any information which would help them with their enquiries.
