Pride of Stratford Award winners to be announced

THE winners of the 2018 Pride of Stratford Awards will be announced tomorrow, Friday.

A presentation evening will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The awards – run by radio station Touch FM for the seventh year - celebrate the achievements of businesses, individuals and community organisations across the district.

There are 17 categories, including the main Pride Award.

Last year’s winner was town clerk, Sarah Summers, who heads up the organisation of the annual Shakespeare Celebrations.

The full list of this year’s nominees is:

Business of the Year Award: Broom Tavern, Dallas Burston Polo Club, Gemini, Sitel.

Small Business of the Year Award: Abacus Chiropractic Clinic, Osco’s Fine Foods, Tots Tune Time, Warwick Events.

Business Person of the Year Award: Fritz Ronneburg, Kelly Ronneburg, Richard Walton, Dominic Skinner, Emma Pettinger, Paul and Rhiain Foster.

Hospitality of the Year Award: Broom Tavern, Charlecote Pheasant, Dallas Burston Polo Club, The One Elm, Ragley Hall, Park and Gardens.

Town Centre of the Year Award: A Fine Tattoo Establishment, The Fourteas Restaurant, Gemini, Specsavers.

Team of the Year Award: Shakespeare’s School Room and Guildhall, Sitel, Stratford Butterfly Farm, The MAD Museum.

Customer Care of the Year Award: Marcus Roofing, The Charlecote Pheasant, Stratford Town Hosts, Welcombe Care.

Artisan Award: Broom Tavern, Hooray’s British Gelato Kitchen, Salt.

Arts Organisation Award: Bidford Community Choir, Escape Arts, In2Cultures, The MAD Museum.

Tourism Initiative Award: Shakespeare’s England Explorer Pass, Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust, Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Guildhall, Stratford Butterfly Farm, Stratford River Festival.

Carer Award: Katie Berry, ILEAP, Welcombe Care.

Citizen Award: Gill Keeley, John Best, Matt Beacham, Roger Edmunds.

Long Service Volunteer Award: Mike Strophair, Janice Heritage, Roger Edmunds, John Best.

Educator Award: Bob Mansfield, Escape Arts, In2Cultures, Tora Wilson.

Community Impact Award: Bidford Area Community Choir, Engage 50+ Festival, Escape Arts, Rubbish Friends, Stratford Foodbank, Stratford Mumbler.

Young Achiever Award: Hedgehog Friendly Town, Jack Sumners, Sophie Evans-Lee.

Pride Award Finalists: Escape Arts, Hedgehog Friendly Town, ILEAP, Roger Edmunds.
