A WOMAN who suffered a cardiac arrest on the River Avon yesterday, Thursday, has died.West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the woman – who is not thought to be local – died at the scene of the emergency next to the boathouse by the river in Stratford-upon-Avon at 1.30pm.

The crew on board an Avon Boating pleasure cruiser on which the woman was a passenger, administered CPR and called the emergency services.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene for nearly an hour assisted by an ambulance, a paramedic officer and police and fire service personnel.
