VIDEO: Stratford Christmas lights switched on

The countdown to Christmas officially got underway in Stratford last night as the town’s spectacular Christmas lights were turned on.

The display, painstakingly created by the Christmas Lights Company, was illuminated by youngsters Ingrid Ash and Sophie Evans-Lee, who received the honour as reward for their charity work.

This year the fireworks that traditionally accompany the lights switch on were replaced by snow machines, which proved popular with the crowds.
