STRATFORD Town manager Carl Adams was left with mixed emotions after his team's dramatic 3-3 draw with Cambridge City at the DCS Stadium on Saturday.

Town looked to be coasting to victory as a quick-fire double from Richard Gregory put them 2-0 up after just 15 minutes.

Cambridge came roaring back and they went 3-2 ahead before Edwin Ahenkorah's equaliser saved Town's blushes.

"I'm full of mixed emotions at the moment," said the Town boss.

"For as pleased as I am with us showing character to come back from the blow of having thrown away a two-goal lead, I'm annoyed at the way in which we gifted them a way back into a game we should have had full control of.

"I fully expected us to have the nous to not relinquish a two-goal advantage at home so easily. We were naive in many aspects and that has frustrated me."

"But I have to say for 20 minutes of the first half and for the final 30 of the second, we were excellent, but we have to learn to play for 90 minutes, not just 50."

Town were due to travel to Merthyr on Tuesday, but the game has been postponed due to the Welsh side’s involvement in the FA Trophy.

Adams' men are back in action this Saturday with a trip to Basingstoke, before returning to the DCS next Tuesday for the visit of high-flying Slough Town.
