POWERHOUSE striker Mike Taylor has re-signed for Stratford Town after leaving rivals Redditch United.

The forward signed for Town during pre-season before leaving three games into the campaign, opting for a move to the Reds.

Taylor went on to make just eight appearances at the Valley Stadium and a lack of first-team action opened the door for a quick return to Stratford.

“I meant what I said about bolstering the squad and Mikey is the first of what I hope will be three or four new faces at the club," said Town boss, Carl Adams.

"I'd heard that he was a little unhappy at Redditch, and when I spoke to him, he jumped at the chance to come back to us.

"It just goes to show that the grass isn’t always greener when you leave here. This is a great club, with great facilities and we are still progressing at Southern Premier League level.

"Re-signing Mikey is a bit of a coup for us and I’m well happy with him returning.”

The former Solihull Moors front man enjoyed an explosive start to his first stint at Town, scoring a hat-trick on his debut against Stourbridge.

He also netted on his full league debut against St Ives Town on the opening day of the season.

Taylor will provide another attacking option for Adams, alongside skipper Richard Gregory, Dior Angus and Edwin Ahenkorah.
