STRATFORD Town manager Carl Adams hailed Saturday's 2-0 win over Dunstable as one of their most complete performances of the season.

Simeon Tulloch fired Stratford in front with a spectacular volley in the eighth minute and Jamie Sheldon doubled Town's advantage from the penalty spot 11 minutes later.

The win was Town’s fourth of the campaign and moves them up to 12th in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division table.

"It was a great all-round team performance," said a delighted Adams.

"We looked really solid today and if finished 5-0 then it wouldn't have been unjust.

"Defensively, we looked very strong and a lot of people don't realise this, but that was our third clean sheet in four league games.

"We look as if we know what we're doing now. We've settled on a formation of 3-5-2 and we are running with it. What's pleasing is even when I'm making changes, people are coming on and knowing their jobs now."

During the second half, Stratford were happy to sit and soak up pressure and hope to capitalise on the counter-attack.

It was a plan that worked to perfection, with the visitors being restricted to mainly long-range efforts, many of which were off target.

Adams added: "We set up not to chase the third goal in the second half - we didn't want to get caught.

"We just sat there and soaked it up. Niall (Cooper) hasn't had to make many saves and their goalkeeper had to make three excellent saves in the second half to keep it at 2-0."

Town are back in action tomorrow night at Cirencester, before another away trip this Saturday at Chippenham.

Meanwhile, Stratford's Southern League Cup second round match against Leamington has been confirmed for Tuesday, 8th November at the DCS Stadium (7.45pm).
