STRATFORD Town manager Carl Adams admitted to feeling mixed emotions after Saturday's 1-1 draw with King's Lynn Town.

A mistake from goalkeeper Niall Cooper saw Lee Stevenson bundle home a 65th-minute equaliser as the visitors claimed a point in a bad-tempered affair at the DCS Stadium.

Cooper redeemed himself in the closing stages, denying King's Lynn striker Leon Mettam when through on goal following a dreadful back pass from Guy Clark.

"It was a game we should have won by two or three goals, but in the end I was happy just to get a draw," Adams admitted.

"We could have been well ahead at half-time and when Richard (Gregory) scored I thought we would go on to win it.

"Niall should have done better with the cross for their goal, but he did redeem himself right at the end when their lad was through and looking as if he was going to win the game for them."

Town are in Birmingham Senior Cup action tonight when they visit Stourbridge, while this Saturday sees them begin their FA Trophy campaign against Grantham Town at the DCS Stadium (3pm).
