STRATFORD Town manager Carl Adams was far from concerned by his side's 2-1 defeat to Chippenham on Saturday.

Town's unbeaten away record ended at Hardenhuish Park as promotion hopefuls Chippenham proved too strong for Carl Adams' side.

Second-half goals from Will Richards and Dave Pratt sealed the points for the Bluebirds, before Town striker Richard Gregory netted a consolation late on.

And Adams was adamant that he was not worried after watching Town succumb to their fourth defeat of the season against a Chippenham side widely expected to challenge for the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division title.

"This defeat won't ruin our season," said Adams.

“Chippenham are a strong and physical side who will be up there challenging throughout the season.

"They may not be pretty to watch but they are very effective at what they do and their two lads up front were a real handful for us all game.

"But we have to be pleased that we were competitive for large parts of the game and we certainly didn’t roll over.

"As always we can learn from today and get ready for another tough one against Merthyr on Tuesday.”

Town return to the DCS to take on Merthyr Town on Tuesday ahead of another home game this Saturday against King's Lynn.
