Adams prepares Town for tough double-header of away games

CARL Adams has urged his Stratford Town side to keep raising their levels as they face demanding back-to-back away games at two top-ten Southern Premier sides.
Town are unbeaten in six league and cup matches since the start of the season but the Town boss says a trip to third-placed King’s Lynn Town tomorrow (Saturday) followed by a visit to tenth-placed Hereford, another of the likely promotion contenders, will be another test of their form.
Adams will have midfielder Ben Stephens back available tomorrow after he served a three-match ban but injuries keep out Eli Bako and George Washbourne.
“We’ve looked a strong team and we have to keep improving,” said Adams. “That’s all I ask and the players haven’t let me down.”
“We’ve now two big games against clubs who will be up there but we will go out there full of confidence.
“If anybody had said at the start of the season we would be unbeaten after five league games I would have been delighted. Even if we lose the next two – and we will be the underdogs – it won’t cloud what we’ve achieved so far.”
King’s Lynn manager Ian Culverhouse has told his players to adopt the old adge of ‘taking one game at a time’ as they welcome Stratford to the Walks Stadium.
The Linnetts can look forward to an FA Cup trip to Nuneaton Town next week but Culverhouse stressed the focus this weekend will be on getting the points from Stratford.
“Stratford will present us with another strong test and we will find out where we are on our road of progression to where we want to be,” he said. “It has, from my point of view, been good to have a clear last week. We have trained very well and discussed and put into practice some different things I want to try out.
“It’s also given a chance for some of the knocks to be rested and to get the energy levels back up.”
Town supporters can travel on the team coach to King’s Lynn tomorrow. It will leave the MoodChimp Stadium at 10.15am. Travel costs £10.
Meanwhile, Stratford have confirmed their Birmingham Senior Cup tie at Solihull Moors will be played at the Automated Technology Group Stadium on Tuesday, 10th October
