EARLSWOOD Town have appointed former Alcester Town coach Ade Luxton as their new manager.

Luxton replaces former boss Gary Davidson, who stepped down from the role due to work commitments.

The 52-year-old had previously held coaching roles at both Redditch United and Redditch Borough before linking up with Danny Janes at Alcester last year.

"I'm absolutely delighted to get the job," he said.

"I put my name in the hat, told them I'd love to do it and it snowballed from there.

"I went over for the last two games of the season and I was really impressed with the lads. Their attitude was first class.

"Initially I thought I'd have a big rebuild job on my hands, but I was pleasantly surprised. I won't be needing to bring in as many players as I thought."

A club statement said: "Adrian will start his duties straight away and has the full backing of the committee.

"He will be appointing his back up staff within the next few weeks. Adrian has been associated with Alcester Town over the past season and comes to Earlswood with a wealth of knowledge on local non-league football.

"The committee at Earlswood would like thank Gary for his contribution over the last 18 months and are hoping that he will stop on as a member of the committee, and look forward to a long and successful future with Adrian and his team."
