Enoch Andoh thunderbolt in vain as Stratford Town beaten by Alvechurch

AN excellent Enoch Andoh goal couldn’t save an out-of-sorts Stratford Town from falling to a 2-1 defeat in a hard fought local derby at Alvechurch on Saturday.

The game featured a start from the returning Mike Taylor and a debut for latest signing Adam McGurk.

After a goalless first half, Ian Long’s in-form Church went ahead in the 52nd minute through a close-range strike by former Bards man Claudio Dias.

Andoh’s excellent finish levelled things up ten minutes from time, however, a hotly-disputed penalty decision moments later saw Tom Turton subsequently convert from the spot to claim victory for the hosts.
