Stratford Town draw with Boston United to remain in the hat for FA Cup first round

STRATFORD Town are in the hat for the first round of the FA Cup after drawing 1-1 with Boston United, who finished the game with ten men.

National League North outfit Boston took the lead in the 22nd minute in front of a 1,627-strong crowd at the Jakemans Community Stadium through Fraser Preston's free-kick.

Jaanai Gordon then headed in from Will Grocott's corner to restore parity ten minutes later.

Pilgrims substitute Jake Wright jnr would see red in the second half after picking up two yellow cards.

The Bards then survived five minutes of stoppage time to ensure they remained in the hat for the FA Cup first round.

The replay will take place at the Arden Garages Stadium on Tuesday night, meaning the scheduled Southern Premier Central clash against Nuneaton Borough will be moved to a new date.

The Bards, who are ball number 57, will found out who they could potentially face in the first round tomorrow, Sunday, with the draw taking place live on ITV from 1pm.
