Battle for survival goes down to the final day

STRATFORD must beat Coventry and NW this weekend if they are to stand any chance of avoiding relegation back to Birmingham Premier League Division Three.

Saturday's C & R Hawks and Stratford, at Rawnsley, was reduced to 20 overs per side and Hawks ran out winners by ten runs after piling up 180 for six from their allocation.

Skipper Mubeen Rashid hit 52 for Hawks but Stratford reached 170 for six, in reply, before a hat-trick from Omar Ali (3 for 26) brought an end to proceedings. Dane Kirby top-scored with 63 for Stratford.

Rivals Oswestry are still in big trouble. If they fail to beat Penkridge next week and Stratford see off Coventry, then the Shropshire side will join Stourbridge in division three next summer as long as Coventry pick up a single bonus point against the Panthers.
