Brown and Witts inspire Stratford to narrow victory

MIKE Brown and Adrian Witts claimed five wickets apiece as Stratford secured a one-wicket victory over C&R Hawks at Swans Nest Lane on Saturday.

Hawks were dismissed for 79 by Witts and Brown, who bowled unchanged to take 5-27 and 5-46 respectively.

Omar Ali hit 35 in 28 balls for the Hawks but only one other batsman reached double figures.

It was a similar story in the Stratford innings as Rob West scored 36 but 19 from Chris Calcott and 13 from David Bailey proved decisive as Stratford’s last-wicket pair added four to the total to clinch a narrow victory.

Awais Khurshid took 4- 21 and Ali took 3-31 for Hawks.
