Easterlow named as new boss of Racing Club Warwick

RACING Club Warwick have appointed Scott Easterlow as their new first-team manager.

Following the resignation of Michael Hayden last September, Warwick appointed an interim management duo of Hayden’s first-team coaches, Luke Evans and Gregg Plumb, to oversee affairs until a new manager could be found.

Easterlow joins Racing Club after three successful seasons with Stockton, which saw them win promotion to the Coventry Alliance Premier Division.

He has enjoyed a playing career with Alveston, Leamington, Rugby Town, Coventry Copeswood and Racing Club themselves before starting his coaching career at Stratford Town Youth.

A spell as assistant boss at Kenilworth Town followed, before a league-winning spell as reserve team manager of Whitnash Town before moving to Stockton.

Chairman, Gary Vella, said: “Luke and Gregg have both done a great job for us over the last seven months and the successful league placing is testament to their coaching abilities.

“Luke had stated his desire to pursue with the club vision of developing local players and has stepped back to concentrate on the youth team role, which we are delighted with.

“Gregg was considered for the role, however, following a meeting to discuss his plans, we felt that he did not demonstrate the necessary experience, or more importantly, the local network that we considered essential for the post.”

The club’s vice-chairman, Phil Haycock, added: “Scott and his new management team have the full support of the club and we are looking forward to developing the fine set of players we have from within, as well as recruiting the local talent that we believe is the future of this club, with a view to promotion to step five as soon as we can.”
