FC STRATFORD manager Dave Poulson has spoken of his frustration after Tuesday night’s derby against Alcester Town was postponed.

The scheduled Midland League Division Three clash at the MoodChimp Stadium was called off at 2pm on Tuesday due to a waterlogged pitch.

And Poulson was disappointed the match against his former club did not go ahead.

“I’m a little bit frustrated,” he said.

“From what I’ve heard, the pitch was playable, however, the referee has said it’s not.

“In my opinion it was called off too early and probably called off to protect the pitch.

“I know there were wet areas, but very little rain has fallen since Saturday.

“Maybe there was a little bit of pressure to call it off, which I understand, but it (the fixture pile-up) is killing us.”

FC Stratford return to action on Saturday when they visit struggling Leamington Hibernian.
