ATHLETES from Stratford triathlon squad Do3 flexed their winter training muscles with a series of wins and top-ten places last weekend.

Racing across central England, Do3’s Solihull contingent joined up its Stratford athletes to take part in triathlon, duathlon and half marathon races as part of their build up to a busy summer race schedule.

At the Halesowen Sprint Triathlon, Seanin Gilmore, from Stow-on-the-Wold, took first place for the women with a time of 1.16.32.

Tasha Chandler and Warwick-based Mel Knight finished in the top ten for females, with Guy Bicknell completing the 400m swim, 20km bike and 5km run in 1.09.38 for seventh overall.

He was followed 2.08 minutes later by fellow squad member Mark Woo and John Wrottesley, who was placed 15th overall.

Mark Amyes completed the sprint tri in 1.21.18 with Andrew White making up the eight-strong Do3 competitors.

Stratford’s Eloise Du Luart was the first woman and third overall at the Hereford Duathlon, a 2.4m run, 17m bike and 2.2m run, completing the race in 1.18.29.

At Rutland Spring Half Marathon, Mike Willers pulled in a PB half marathon in readiness for the first of his 2018 Ironman competitions.

Representing Do3 at Warwick Half Marathon were Steven Hession, John Taplin, Peter Wharton and Stratford local Mike Davis, who competes in Ironman Lanzarote at the end of May.
