LAST week saw a lot of action from the Stratford Cycle Studio team from a variety of races.

Starting off on Wednesday, Nick Gardener competed in the Banbury Star time trial, K4/20 course, and achieved a time of 31.16, securing him sixth place, missing out on third by only 18 seconds.

David Nath again took on the Mallory Park criterium race on Thursday.

He put in some good pulls on the front throughout the race, but some unfortunate positioning coming into the uphill sprint finish found him boxed in and he didn’t manage to make the sprint, coming in at 20th position out of 50.

The two big events for the Cycle Studio team were both abroad. Eloise Du Luart had her first race of the year this week and finished 13th overall at the Volcano Triathlon in Lanzarote with a first place in her age group.

Whilst most of the team were left in the UK for their Saturday morning training ride, two others were at the Mallorca 312 event.

Andrew Foster, who won entry from a Sciconbags competition, took along fellow team-mate Paul Turner.

With an early start on Saturday, a massive 312 kilometres to go and 4,000 meters of climbing, the two set off on the roads in Mallorca for this epic closed road event.

Turner, who started much further back and as a result was hindered in many places behind the sheer numbers of riders, still managed a time of 11 hours 17 minutes, placing him 230th out of 1,699.

Foster however, who added an additional 5km to the route after he took a wrong turn and had to backtrack on himself, finished in 10 hours 14 minutes, an incredible 39th place out of the 1,699 competitors.
