GEORGINA Mitchell triumphed at the British Modern Tetrathlon Championships held at Tudor Grange, Solihull.

The Stratford AC member won the under-17 girls category at an event that consists of fencing, swimming and then a combined event of running and shooting.

Mitchell started off with a good fence and swim and headed into the combined event with a 39-second handicap over second place.

Her shooting was good and she also enjoyed some great runs to finish 44 seconds ahead of her nearest rival.

Mitchell said: “This win was totally unexpected as it’s my first year in a two-year age group.

“I’m delighted to win though and already looking forward to next season.”
