Goals continue to flow as Town hit four at Coleshill
STRATFORD Town continued from where they left off at Evesham with another free-flowing display against Midland League side Coleshill Town, easing to a 4-1 victory at a sultry Pack Meadow on Tuesday evening, writes Bryan Hale.
Moving the ball about sweetly on the 3G surface, Town were on top from the start with the lively Jamie Sheldon forcing a smart save from Coleshill keeper Paul Hathaway inside the opening five minutes, and they went in front in the 17th minute.
Simeon Tulloch cut in from the right to shoot against the advancing Hathaway and from the resulting corner taken by Trey Brathwaite, it was Guy Clark who climbed the highest against the team he played for last season to power a header past Hathaway into the top corner of the net.
Six minutes later, Tulloch was again involved as Town doubled their lead reaching the byline down the right before pulling the ball back for Will Grocott to give Hathaway no chance with an emphatic finish from the edge of the six-yard box.
Ex-Town midfielder Sam Adkins had a decent long range try safely held by Dominic Cotter, who was deputising in the Town goal for the unavailable Niall Cooper and Dean Rathbone saw a scrambled effort cleared off the line by Kieren Westwood.
Town were inches away from adding a third five minutes before half-time when Tulloch’s whipped-in cross was tantalising just out of the reach of the unmarked Dior Angus.
Both sides made changes after the interval with Town introducing all seven of their substitutes by the midway point of the second half.
They eventually extended their lead in the 74th minute when Mike Taylor’s cross from the right was neatly finished by Logan Kelling from eight yards out.
Coleshill pulled one back soon after when Simeon Coborne netted from close range, but it was Town who completed the scoring four minutes from time with Frankie Bagient surging clear down the inside left channel and thumping the ball past the helpless Hathaway.
