Golf club Welcombes its new captain

IT was a big day for incoming Welcombe Golf Club captain Neal Tugman last Sunday.

Members assembled on the first tee to witness the traditional captain’s drive-in, where Tugman was handed an exploding golf ball, much to the amusement of the crowd.

Tugman then powered his drive 225 yards down the fairway, finishing the opening hole with a birdie.
