Grit and endeavour rewarded with trophies

STRATFORD under-10s went to two festivals on Sunday and came home with two trophies, medals and a few bruises.

The Black and Whites claimed the Plate trophy at the Barkers Butts Festival, beating Old Coventrians in the final 3-1. Their pool matches saw wins over Pinley (6-1), Broadstreet B (8-0), Barkers Butts (3-0), before a 4-2 defeat to Stockport team Heaton Moor.

At the Kings Norton Minis Tournament, nine Stratford players showed real grit and determination as they finished as Plate runners-up to the competition hosts, going down 4-2.

In the pool games, Stratford lost 4-1 to Droitwich, beat Camp Hill 7-0 before drawing 3-3 with Old Halesonians.
