Hallows wins Tankard League on the final day
CHRIS Hallows secured Aston Magna Tankard League glory after winning the fourth and final match on Saturday.
Twenty-seven anglers competed in the league and 18 fished on the final day.
Going into the last round, it was three anglers in with a chance of winning.
Hallows took his chance, catching 26lb 14oz of bream and the ten points were enough to win the league by just one point.
Andy Bruce, who had been leading from the start, needed just one extra point, but had to settle for second overall.
Les Ashby was in second place on the final day, but ended in fourth, two points behind third-placed Gary Didcock.
