LEADERS Harborne recovered from a poor start to beat Stratford by 40 runs in their Birmingham League Division Two match at Swans Nest Lane on Saturday.

Harborne were struggling at 30-3 before Alex Pyecroft (60) and Tom Payne (40) got them up to 210-7 after their 50 overs.

Then some impressive bowling, namely 3-32 from Pyecroft and 3-33 from Humais Butt, ensured Stratford’s response never gained any proper momentum, and despite John Price’s 61, they were restricted to 170 all out.
