Haslam smashes her personal best at Chester Marathon

MARIA Haslam smashed her four-hour target at the popular Chester Marathon last Sunday.
The Stratford AC runner recorded a time of 3.50.48, comfortably inside her target time and shattering her personal best by more than 30 minutes.
Haslam’s 10k splits were remarkably consistent, registering 54.15, 53.55, 54.41 and 56.19, all despite a fractured foot.
The pain she felt at mile 20, she initially took to be cramp but a subsequent visit to A&E revealed the real reason.
Haslam finished 786th out of 2,897 finishers and was 96th lady to finish out of 984.
