Haynes all set for MMA debut

STRATFORD’S Alex Haynes is preparing for his first MMA title bout in London this Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who trains with Team Peixoto at the Avon Sports Bar on Western Road, will take on Romania’s Janos Csukas in the WCMMA 32 event at the capital’s Troxy venue.

Haynes has been training every day in preparation for his big debut and his coach, Victor Peixoto, is hopeful his student can bring the belt back to Warwickshire.

“We are just days away now and the training is going great, he’s in every day without fail.

“Alex won his first fight in the second round by arm bar, while he has also competed in our very first jiujitsu tournament in Stratford, where he finished third.

“This will be his biggest fight yet and it’s such exciting news for Team Peixoto.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to all of my students for helping Alex train every day and we shall be doing our best to bring the belt back to Stratford.”
