Southam Sporting receives welcome donation from David Wilson Homes
A HOUSING firm has donated £500 to Southam Sporting to help the club prepare for the new season.
David Wilson Homes has pledged its support to the team and the money will go towards Sporting renewing their registration for the Leamington and District Sunday League, Birmingham County FA fees, insurance costs, the replenishment of kits and a new match ball.
Club secretary Danny Gair said: “Preparations are going very well, we have started our pre-season friendly games and won our last game 9-0 against a team in the league above ours.
“We have some new faces coming along to join our club which is great and we are hopeful of a successful season.
“We are very thankful for the support we have received from David Wilson Homes and it shows the company’s commitment to the communities it creates, both in the short and long term.
“We hope to continue the partnership for many years to come and we are excited for our annual end-of-season game against the housebuilder’s team next year after a great match back in May.”
The club, which is entering its second season, comprises 16- to 35-year-olds and will be looking to build on a sixth-placed finish in the Division Four table last season.
Training sessions are held on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm at Stockton FC.
