Hunt leads way in Winter League standings

TONY Hunt leads the way after the penultimate round of the joint Shipston AC and ADDAC Winter League held at Aston Magna and Clifford Chambers.

It was another cold, windy day with all the winter elements — frozen hail, rain and sleet, making this round the trickiest one so far.

The top weight came from Aston Magna, with Hunt takign his second win in succession from the venue, with a weight of 17lb 12oz of carp.

The rest of the group struggled for bites, with Neil Schumann catching 2lb 2oz of small rudd to beat his brother Jack (on his birthday!) into second place by just one ounce, on 2lb 1oz.

Rob Oakey secured the top weight at Clifford Chambers, with a stand-out 16lb 6oz of carp.

Mick Belgrave was second with 5lb 2oz of mixed fish and Pete Golding was third with 5lb of small roach and perch.
