Ilmington Arrows hit target with national title
ILMINGTON Arrows under-16s were on target again after they retained their National Youth Floorball Championship title.
The Arrows went into the tournament without some key players due to injury and unavailability.
They were forced to play their games with just one substitute, making it a tough task in a game where rolling subs are encouraged to maintain fresh legs.
Having won all of their qualifying games, Ilmington took on Farnham in the last qualifier, which they lost 5-1.
This ensured they would have to play Farnham in the final, as they were unbeaten in their games.
A serious change of tactic was required from the Arrows and it worked as they battled back from a 1-0 half-time deficit to win 4-3.
Will Palmer took the top scorer of the day award.
Arrows team: Tom Lewis, Will Palmer, Thomas Cawley, Joshi Gibb, Will Parr, Elliot Thombs, Gareth Hubbard, Jamie Chinn-Brown.
