Janes takes aim at rival bosses
DANNY Janes took aim at his rival Midland League Division Three managers after injury-hit Alcester Town suffered another setback this week.
Defender Chris Lowe became Alcester’s seventh player to be ruled out for the rest of the season following the re-occurrence of a groin injury.
Janes had hoped a month on the sidelines would bring Lowe back up to full fitness, but it appears the damage is more complex than first thought.
“I can’t stand it when I read around managers making excuses for results or moaning they have several players injured or unavailable,” said the Alcester boss.
“If I review our list, myself, Ashley Bunn, James Cund, Chris Lowe, Luke Bowles, Corey Lloyd and Josh Moore have all been ruled out for the season.
“That is seven players who were in our plans for the season, but we have had to adapt and work hard to make things work.
“Every club has a couple of weeks where they struggle, we had it away at Inkberrow when illness hit the squad and we were down to 12 on the morning of the game, but it is down to the management team to prepare a squad for each game and we ensured we went there with 15.
“Chris is a massive loss, especially as we have lost four defenders for the rest of the season also, but I will take responsibility in guaranteeing we have the quality in that area.”
Alcester return to action on Saturday when they entertain Birmingham University Medics in the Birmingham Vase (2pm).
