Keira continues her rapid progress at Scottish Championships
STRATFORD TUK sent a team of students to Scotland to compete in the Goodwill National Scottish Championships in Edinburgh last Saturday.
Competing in the under-eight yellow belt divisions was Keira Dhillion and Billy Barnett.
Dhillion, aged seven and still in her first year of training, produced a stellar performance to win gold in the female patterns division.
Next up was six-year-old Barnett, who had been training for two years and following on from his success at the ITF Welsh Open where he won silver, he produced a superb performance to win double gold for sparring and patterns.
Billy’s sisters, Demi and Sky, both competed in the under-11 categories.
Nine-year-old Demi scooped top prize, winning two gold medals for sparring and patterns in the red belt division.
Sky, aged eight, competed in the green belt division, dominating the sparring to take gold while also claiming bronze in the patterns.
Competing in the special technique disciplines saw Demi and Billy win silver medals and Sky producing the highest kick in her division to win gold.
Also competing on the day was club coach Gilbert Blocksidge in the black belt division. Gilbert now getting back into full-time training, won silver in the patterns and bronze in sparring.
