Kingsley's young skiers slide to success

THE Kingsley School’s under-14 ski team have recently returned from the English Schools’ Indoor Ski Championships with trophies in individual and team races.

The competition, which took place at Chill Factore in Manchester on 14 May, saw school ski teams from across the UK compete in individual and team slalom races.

Emma Lawton, Hannah Dennison, Lorenza Chapman and Lucy Sainsbury, finished second overall in the team race, with Dennison and Lawson finishing third and fourth in the individuals respectively.

Kingsley finished second to Surbiton High School, the largest and most renowned school ski club in the country, by a few seconds.

Ski team manager, Alan Edwards, said: “This is a fantastic result for Kingsley. The girls’ commitment and dedication is admirable.

"They are quickly working up the ranks to become one of the country’s top school ski squads.”
