TEENAGER Laura Griffiths has successfully qualified for the ASA English Swim Nationals in the 100m freestyle event.
The Shipston High School pupil trains with Leamington Spa Swimming Club in the senior squad and she has recently achieved nine West Midlands qualifying times.
Griffiths won medals at the Coventry pool with a gold in the 50m freestyle, silver in the 100m freestyle, bronze in the 50m butterfly while also improving her personal best times.
The 13-year-old will travel to Ponds Forge, Sheffield, in August and swim under the Team Mercia umbrella along with team-mate Molly Quelch, from Shottery Girls’ Grammar School, who has also qualified and will swim in the 50m freestyle event.
