Maynard wins Cotswold Hills League batting award

WELLESBOURNE'S success in winning the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division was given another boost when Gary Maynard won the league’s batting award.
He scored 850 runs, averaging 60.71 and was well clear of second-placed Julian Morris (Exhall & Wixford) 607 runs at 37.94 and third-placed Matt Corby (Shipston) with 586 runs at 45.08.
The bowling award in the division went to Earlswood’s overseas player Harry Brooks with 42 wickets, averaging 8.5 with Wellesbourne’s Tom Stephenson in joint second place with 35 wickets at 10.66 and Zak Aulakh (Long Itchington) also 35 wickets at 14.34.
