Midland League weekend preview
SHIPSTON Excelsior will be hoping to make it a club record seven league wins in a row when they head to Northfield Town on Saturday.
Steve Hedderman's side secured their sixth success on the bounce at Burntwood last time out to leave them in great shape ahead of a testing few weeks that will also see them take on FC Stratford and Alcester Town.
There is an attractive game in store between two of the top six, with Barton United welcoming Alcester Town to Holland Sports Club.
Realistically, both sides need to win all of their remaining games and hope the top three slip up if they are to sneak into the promotion places.
Likewise, FC Stratford need to win all of their games if they are to get close to the top two, starting this week at Coventrians.
Southam United are clinging on to their Midland League Division One place by their fingernails and a home win against Hinckley AFC is vital if they are to avoid the drop.
The form side of the division are Bolehall Swifts and a run of eight unbeaten games has moved them away from the bottom of the table. A couple more wins should be enough and they meet Littleton at Rene Road.
Heath Hayes have been in great form since February and will be one to look out for next season.
They travel to the Beehive to face Studley with a top-six finish on the cards.
Racing Club Warwick are another side who have seen an upturn in form.
They travel to Pilkington XXX, a repeat of the opening game of the season when it ended goalless.
In Midland League Division Two, Earlswood Town won for only the second time this season last weekend and will be hoping for win number three when they host Fairfield Villa.
