Olympic star Pozzi presents Stratford AC's annual awards
STRATFORD AC’s Olympian Andrew Pozzi was on hand to present the medals and trophies at the club’s annual awards night held at Stratford School on Saturday.
The evening celebrated another year of successes and achievements of the people throughout all sections of the club.
Hurdler Pozzi, who competed for Great Britain at the Rio Olympics, also answered questions from the 300-strong audience, revealing the good news that he is back in training and aiming for the 2017 World Championships in London.
Pozzi was also presented with the final award of the night — the Male Athlete of the Year.
Club coach, Paul Bearman, said: “Every now and again I’m asked what makes our club such a happy, fun and successful club.
“It’s a bit of cliché, but quite simply it’s the energy, skills, camaraderie and interest of the volunteer people involved right across the various parts of the club that makes us the success that we are, plus the talent and dedication of everyone who competes.”
Stratford AC chairman, Paul Hawkins, added: “It comes from a lot of hard work by the athletes and coaches plus all the backroom people who make the club what it is, an amazingly strong and successful club which Stratford should be proud of.”
