Our round-up of Saturday’s football action

STRATFORD Town ended a three-match winless run to beat Southern League Premier Central strugglers Biggleswade Town 1-0 and climb back into the play-off places.

Lewis Ison scored the game’s only goal with less than two minutes on the clock with a long-range effort over keeper Jack Berman who then kept the Bards at bay with a string of fine saves.

The visitors may be rooted to the foot of the table but it was far from one-way traffic with home shotstopper Jake Weaver also kept busy to keep out a handful of efforts including a penalty at the end of the first half.
