PBs galore as Stratford AC shine at Two Castles Run

FIVE Stratford AC runners recorded personal bests in the popular Two Castles Run between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle.

Richard Shephard led the way with a superb time of 34.23, continuing his magnificent run of form to claim fourth overall and first in his age group.

Making it a family affair, Ceri Shephard (46.04) wasrunning her first race in the yellow and black vest and proved there is more than one excellent runner in the Shephard household.

Penny Stainthorp (46.06) was just behind Ceri and second in her age group.

Anthony Howell (42.01) was exactly a minute quicker that in this same race last year while Maria Haslam (49.24) was a huge six minutes quicker than her time in last year’s Stratford Big 10k.

There were two notable performances from Stratford juniors, Sam Weaving (40.13) and Callum Lambourn (48.24) making his senior 10k debut.

Emma Parkin (48.05) was also making her 10k debut and Matt Sims (46.29) was racing in the yellow and black vest for the first time.

A total of 3,958 runners finished the course, which included 23 Stratford-upon-Avon AC Runners who did the club proud.

The overall winner of the Two Castles Run 2016 was Daniel Nash of East Cornwall Harriers in a time of 32.34 and the first lady to finish was Sarah Rose of Kenilworth Runners in a time of 38.23.
