Perkins leaves post as Stratford Town physio with a heavy heart

EXPERIENCED physio Joe Perkins has left Stratford Town due to work commitments.

Perkins joined the club in 2012, having previously worked with manager Carl Adams at Coleshill Town.

The 50-year-old was part of an incredibly successful five years at the DCS Stadium, which has seen them turn from a Midland Alliance outfit into a stable Southern League Premier club.

A statement from the club said: "We are sad to report that Joe Perkins, our magnificent physio, match reporter, results predictor organiser and all-round top gentleman is to leave Town after five fantastic years at the club."

Perkins says he has left the club with a heavy heart following an "unforgettable" five years, that saw the club promoted twice.

He said: "It is with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to leave my position as physiotherapist at Stratford Town FC.

"I have had five wonderful, memorable and successful years at the DCS and will greatly miss the camaraderie within the dressing room and with the many fans and friends I have made and met in that time.

"I would like to thank Carl for giving me the opportunity to join him at STFC after he left Coleshill Town, where I spent three great years with him prior to our Stratford adventure, and for his friendship throughout those years.

"Sniffer (Paul Eden), too, has also been a great friend during that period and he really is Mr Reliable.

"There are so many people to thank at Stratford Town, and I'd be here all night mentioning them all, so I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the club, from the players, those in the boardroom, to the fans and all the staff, for their friendship, help and support.

"You have all helped to make the last five years truly remarkable and unforgettable."
