PETE Kilbride took the honours in Shipston AC’s latest match at Aston Magna.

Kilbride caught 31lb 8oz of carp from the island peg on the match lake, to finish ahead of second-placed Simon Slowther, who caught 25lb 6oz of tench and carp from peg three, also from the match lake.

Andy Bruce came third with 25lb 2oz with carp and chub from the middle lake, while Rob Oakey was fourth with carp for 22lb 8oz from the reeds on the match lake.

A junior contest held on Sunday on the middle lake was a hard match, with only few fish caught on the day.

The winner with tench and rudd was Max Bottomley, second was Sophie Jo Bradley, third was Amelia Holtom, fourth was Henri Dalleav-White and fifth was Skye Holtom.

Meanwhile, Friday night’s talk with local river angler and former Shakespeare Superteam and Starlets angler Tony Skinner at the sports club in Shipston proved a huge success.

Many turned out to what was an interesting and informative night. Shipston AC hope to run more of these talks in the future.
