SHIPSTON-on-Stour face an anxious wait to see if they have clinched promotion following Saturday’s 29-17 victory over Woodrush at Mayo Road.
The Rams’ bonus-point win took them above Old Leamingtonians into second place in Midlands 3 West (South).
However, their hopes remain in the balance as Old Coventrians lie in third, two points behind Shipston, meaning a win in their remaining fixture, also against Woodrush, would seal promotion at the expense of the Rams.
“Old Coventrians are playing well at the moment, so they’ve got a good chance of beating Woodrush,” said Shipston skipper Matt Corby.
“We’ll just have to wait and see.”
The pivotal fixture will be played on Saturday, 12th May at Woodrush’s Icknield Street ground (3pm).
