COACH Oli Hyatt hailed Stratford’s 2-1 victory over title favourites Nottingham as one of the best performances he has seen from the team.
The Black and Whites delivered an outstanding team performance to continue their winning start to their Midlands 2 campaign.
Stratford went ahead early in the first half through Jack Childs, but Nottingham continued to exert pressure resulting in a penalty corner, which the well drilled university side managed to convert to equalise.
Hyatt’s men fought back and scored a second just before half-time courtesy of Sam Grigg.
The second half was a tense affair with both teams desperate to take control of the match.
With five minutes of the match to go, goalkeeper Oliver Tubb made a fantastic save to deny Nottingham another equaliser.
A delighted Hyatt said: “This was possibly the best performance the club has ever seen from the men’s first team. I don’t remember better.”
