Pozzi and Merritt set for Great CityGames showdown

STRATFORD’S world indoor hurdles champion Andrew Pozzi will face 2012 Olympic gold medallist Aries Merritt at the Great CityGames in Manchester on Friday.

They will race in the 110m hurdles on a pop-up track on Deansgate in the city centre.

Pozzi, 25, won the 60m World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in March to add to his European indoor title.

Fellow Briton David King will also compete in the race, which is free to watch for spectators. BBC2 will be broadcasting the competition from 6pm to 7.30pm.

The event kicks off a big weekend of sport in the city, culminating in the Great Manchester Run on Sunday.
